Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall engage in the sweeping, scrubbing and washing of concrete pavement and/or bituminous pavement surface areas specified in a manner which will result in the removal of loose debris, aggregate, soil, and surface material, to include grease, oil, hydraulic fluids or other fluids, contaminants, solids or material which may accumulate. The use of detergents or chemical cleaning solutions are discouraged, but not prohibited for this Project. Any cleaning solutions are subject to the Airport Manager's approval and must be in accordance with section 10.4 of these specifications. Contractor shall be aware that work areas may not be continuous due to Airport operations and work schedules. Work areas may be segmented between gate areas with ramp equipment and loading bridges. The Contractor shall work around ramp features and equipment as necessary. Work shall be coordinated by Work Orders placed by the Project Manager. The minimum work order shall be 1,000 SF for surface cleaning work. Ramp Cleaning Requirements a. The Contractor shall power sweep each designated gate position and pressure wash and scrub each hardstand area as shown.b. During scrubbing and pressure washing, particular attention shall be paid to the cleaning of aircraft parking positions which are subject to concentrated oil and fluid deposits from aircraft engines and ground service vehicles. The Contractor shall make these areas safe for airport operation. c. Only polypropylene or other comparable synthetic material bristle brushes may be used to scrub pavement areas. The use of wire bristle brushes is not permitted. d. The Contractor shall immediately vacuum up and dispose of all collected wastewater from the ramp scrubbing/cleaning activities. All waste shall be removed to an approved disposal site away from the Airport. The Contractor shall not dispose of any waste or wastewater at the Airport.
