Specifications include, but are not limited to: Crew foreman will insure that all necessary Department of Transportation permits have been obtained and that all traffic control meets the requirements of the state highway department. All crew members will follow safety procedures as outlined in the contractor’s safety manual or at a minimum the safety requirements of Brightridge safety manual. Storage loops will be 150’ in length. Storage loops for repair will split the pole and be mounted on the strand. Ring cut coils must be secured to the strand for accessibility Butt splice coils must be secured to the strand for accessibility Lag screws will be placed in every hole of the riser. Contractor shall redline (update) as-built drawings to provide the following information. o Routing and footage changes o Starting and ending sequential numbers of each fiber run. o At each slack loop, the sequential numbers entering and leaving the slack loop and pole #. o At each splice location, the sequential numbers entering and leaving the point of attachment and pole #. Bonding specifications: Every 5th pole will be bonded. Where no vertical exists, bond at the next existing vertical pole. Strand should be continuous from anchor to anchor where possible. When down guy strand must be cut, bond down guy strand to load bearing strand with clamp and then to copper clamp and vertical. Bond 1st and last pole in run while stranding. All other bonds to be placed when fiber is lashed. Framing and Stranding specifications: Strand will be tensioned from anchor to anchor. Strand brakes will be used where needed. Frame additional bolts 6” apart. No more than 2.25” of bolt left exposed. Placement of stand-off brackets will be mutually determined on pre-construction Rideout. A running ground must be utilized when pulling out strand. All 3 bolt clamps will be tightened before any lashing can be performed on a run. 13 Strand and fiber will only be built to triplex poles if they are or can be anchored and have the clearance needed to meet NESC standards. (Used in congested areas only) Lashing specifications: Single lash all runs except road crossings. Double lash all primary and secondary roads, railroad, and lake crossings. Lashing will be tight with no air loops. Lashing wire must not be spliced.
