Specifications include, but are not limited to: Fence Installation The current area does not have a fence. This will be a new installation. The goal is to help protect the equipment (Generator and Chiller) from vandalism and/or accidents. It is also desired to select a fence that is aesthetically pleasing to the area and closely matches the color of the building. The base bid for the project for approximately 102 linear feet of privacy fence that is 8’ tall. Pricing for this bid should include both a commercial grade vinyl fence (with aluminum reinforced rail) as the first option, and commercial grade aluminum as a second price option. Post sizes and thickness of the posts and fence panels should be of thicker material for durability and to prevent saging. Fence panels should have a small space between slats to allow for air movement within the area. The color of the fence is desired to be a close match to the beige color of the administrative building. The base bid includes the area highlighted in the attached picture with the solid yellow line. The east and west sides are approximately 24’ and the north side is approximately 54’ in length. The base bid keeps the 54’ alley side open, not enclosed. The exact dimensions for proposal pricing should be completed by the contractor and are the contractor’s responsibility. The west fence line, located on a sidewalk may need to be mounted/fixed/attached directly to the concrete without cutting and digging holes. This location has electric and gas lines located directly below the sidewalk. Also, it would be of preference to leave no less than 5’ of clearance on this sidewalk to allow for snow removal equipment to pass through. Alternate 1 – This bid alternate is to enclose the south side of the area (alley side) which is located in the attached picture with the blue line. This bid alternate is to finish off the south alley side with the same privacy fence as in the base bid, which should be an additional approximate 54’. This length of fence should have a 12’ double gate (2 – 6’ swing gates) installed in the area located by the red line in the attached picture. Exact location to be determined upon award of bid in consultation with County staff. Gates are to be latched and closed by using a commercial grade Canebolt (Drop Pin Kit) and commercial grade hinges. Alternate 2 – This bid alternate is to enclose the south side of the area (alley side) which is located in the attached picture with the blue line. This bid alternate is to include an 8’ tall chain link fence, which should be approximately 54’. This length of fence should have a 12’ double gate (2 – 6’ swing gates) installed in the area located by the red line in the attached picture. Exact location to be determined upon award of bid in consultation with County staff. Gates are to be latched and closed using a commercial grade latch device, and commercial grade hinges. The contractor will be responsible for receiving, unloading, hoisting, cutting, pouring any replaced concrete, and freight to the project site location.
