Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Engineer will enter into a contract to provide design phase services of the project as the lead designer and may be asked to also perform post-design services and construction administration during the construction phase of the project. Design Phase Services by the Engineer may include the following improvements: Sodium Hypochlorite Tank replacement. Fluorosilicic Acid Tank replacement. Large diameter valves in and near the Ultraviolet Process Area replacement – some of the UV system valves were recently replaced, this project replaces the remainder. Addition of new sedimentation sludge blow down valve vaults roughly 12ft deep, for maintenance access. New Dosing Channel sludge and scum removal system and installation of additional maintenance access. Solids and scum buildup in the Dosing Channel has progressively become more challenging with increased chemical usage to treat for disinfection byproducts, this build up is causing treatment issues and can only be fully cleaned during annual dry up. It is the intent of this project to construct a solution to this ongoing issue.
