Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1. Construction Documentation (“CD”). The successful proposer would be responsible for: 1.1.1. Progressing the panelized housing design previously developed through Design Development (“DD”) by University’s team to include calculations, and coordination of specifications, and drawings sufficient for the fabrication of an initial structural prototype. Engineer will review existing DD documentation (Attached as Exhibit B) to advance design and target value optimization. This would include: 1.1.1.1. Updating and confirming comments from the development, design and research team on the DD documents in the construction documents; 1.1.1.2. Coordinating the structural design with REVIT modelling of the building (LOD 200); 1.1.1.3. Coordinating with project team on structural requirements; 1.1.1.4. Coordinating structural calculations with specifications, and construction drawings; 1.1.1.5. Delivery of completed structural CD package including calculations, specifications, and drawings sufficient for structural prototype construction and initial cost-estimating; and 1.1.1.6. Delivery of reviewed and finalized prototype CNC machine files, material layouts for maximum material efficiency. 1.2. Structural Prototype Development. The successful proposer would be responsible for: 1.2.1. Progressing the design through the development of physical full-scale structural prototypes that will be used to evaluate construction sequencing, ease of constructability and connection efficiencies. This will include: 1.2.1.1. Working with a fabrication team to develop temporary works such as shoring, bracing, underpinning or propping methods required for construction; 1.2.1.2. Designing the support/bracing/anchorage of the MEP systems and FF&E elements; 1.2.1.3. Responding to requests for information (RFI) from prototype fabrication team; 1.2.1.4. Developing protocols for and overseeing required structural testing; 1.2.1.5. Making site visits to the Emmerson lab as required; 1.2.1.6. Assisting in value engineering as required; 1.2.1.7. Delivery of shoring specifications, lifting specifications and construction sequencing guidelines; 1.2.1.8. Coordination of drawings and/or specifications resulting from necessary structural modifications. 1.2.1.9. Delivery of report recommendations for structural optimization based on lessons learned from initial prototype to University project team lead; and 1.2.1.10. Delivery of reviewed and finalized as-built structural documentation and structural tests. 1.3. Panel Shipping/Transport. The successful proposer would be responsible for: 1.3.1. Assisting with structural requirements and associated modifications related to transportation of panelized systems. This will include: 1.3.1.1. Providing a review of transportation/shipping methods to optimize efficiency and cost; 1.3.1.2. Providing an analysis for the transport loading method selected; and 1.3.1.3. Reviewing and reporting to University’s project team lead on transport options for panelized systems and calculations as needed.
