Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Consultant shall perform all the necessary actions required to research and document the investigations tasks assigned by the NMDOT. The Consultant is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data and all documentation prepared under the terms of the Contract and the Consultant shall ensure quality accordingly. The documentation shall conform with NMDOT procedures and contract terms. All comments received from NMDOT will be addressed by the Consultant. Revised documents that do not address all corrections and comments will be subject to liquidated damages. The Consultant shall conduct limited subsurface archaeological testing in conformance with NMAC 4.10.15 Standards for Survey and Inventory and shall conduct archaeological excavations in conformance with state statutes and land managing agency requirements including tribal lands. The Consultant shall have experience preparing data recovery and monitoring plans, and experience preparing reports that document cultural resource survey investigations. Additional skills needed for this project include the ability to conduct archival research and prepare historic contexts, conduct cultural resource and traditional cultural property surveys, and document historic buildings (HABS/HAER documentation), acequias, and cultural landscapes. A minimum of three (3) years of experience and training is required for these skills. An additional requirement is the ability to present the results of cultural resource studies to other professionals and to the general public. A minimum of six (6) months experience with presenting at a meeting, a conference, or a classroom setting is required. Other tasks that might be assigned include pre-construction meetings, preliminary field reviews, field design inspections, and public information meetings/hearings. The Consultant shall be qualified and experienced in all aspects of cultural resource services and be able to work in all areas of New Mexico on land managed by any agency. The Consultant, or a combination of consultant and subconsultant personnel, must have or be able to quickly obtain cultural resource permits from any land managing authority in the state.
