Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful contractor will implement hand thinning and piling treatments using chainsaws followed by herbicide application to the cut stumps. The work units occur in 3 different locations within Grand and San Juan Counties of southeastern Utah. The contractor will provide equipment for land based, vegetation removal and herbicide efforts throughout the identified treatment units. General requirements, as outlined in the WRI proposal and within the site-specific statements of work (SOWs) provided by the Project Coordinator, include, but are not limited to: 1. Work with the BLM Canyon Country District Aquatic Ecologist (Project Manager), to perform the work at two sites on the Dolores River and one site on West Coyote in Grand County Utah. 2. Provide for equipment transportation, shuttle services, vehicles, fuel, and other equipment and support staff as needed for land-based treatments. 3. Provide chainsaws, herbicide equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), maintenance procedures, and properly trained crews to implement the work. 4. Herbicide applicators will carry a Utah Applicator’s License. 5. Be adaptable to changing site conditions, project needs and equipment malfunctions including scheduling changes due to weather and coordination with other contractors on project sites or other shifts in project needs that arise. 6. Able to provide follow up if project timelines are impacted by weather or other conditions to ensure work is done in the spring of 2024 if unable to be completed in the fall and early winter of 2022. 7. Familiarity with site names, accessibility, and jurisdictional boundaries at project sites (this information will be included in project work plans). 8. Ability to work in conjunction with other contractors (e.g. Grand County Weed Dept, Conservation Corps, migratory bird survey crew) hired by the BLM for other phases of the project. 9. Supply post-hitch accomplishment report including GPS/GIS/KMZ data, Pesticide Application Records, and brief narrative.
