Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Perform onsite physicals and examinations 2. Develop and manage patient treatment plans, including but not limited to oversight of the Medicated Assistance Treatment Program (MAT) which in general could be a combination of medication, counseling and/or behavioral therapies. Any newly passed legislation associated medical care or implementation of programs for detainees that have been passed by the New Mexico Legislature. 3. Make referrals to appropriate medical professionals or hospitals as needed 4. Consult with on-duty nursing staff as needed 5. Be accessible at all times of day and night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (On-Call) and provide for substitute services should s/he be unavailable. 6. Provide medication management of all incarcerated individuals. Director will collaborate with the contracted County pharmacy to create/maintain a prescription drug formulary and policies regarding prescription drug administration. 7. Create and/or maintain formulary/policies regarding prescription drug administration 8. Become familiar with Eddy County Detention Center policies and procedures 9. Chair or be a member of Detention Center committees as assigned 10. Train detention medical staff as needed/required on medical procedures, treatments and new medications. 11. Provide monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual reports to applicable state and/or federal entities, professional commissions, or other medical entities, per reporting guidelines.
