Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Urbandale is seeking Professional Services for the planning and design for a group of features at the Walnut Creek Regional Park located at 4100 Walnut Creek Park Road. The main component of this project will be a large regional size playground located south of the Large Shelter in the Regional Park, with two smaller complimentary features located near the Large and Small Shelters within the Walnut Creek Regional Park. The firm selected for this project will provide preliminary and final design services, and cost estimates for the development of the playground and feature areas and the surrounding amenities which will include ADA sidewalk connections. Responsibilities of the Consultant: • Perform all surveying work necessary to prepare design plans described above based on the City of Urbandale’s horizontal and vertical control. • Prepare design concept options based on the framework included in the Urbandale Park Master Plan, staff input and public input. • Provide opportunities for public input from online and in-person forum(s). • Prepare site plan, storm water management plan, preliminary and final construction plans, specifications, contract documents utilizing applicable design standards and storm water management requirements. Alternates may be required to ensure that the total project construction costs do not exceed $630,000. Additional funding may be available through phasing options or grant support.
