Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Albuquerque has made several strong commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preparing for a changing climate, and improving environmental sustainability throughout the community. In accordance with these goals, the City has applied for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Carbon Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG). The CPRG provides funding to qualifying local governments (including the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County) to develop and implement plans to reduce greenhouse gases and other harmful air pollutants. The City’s Sustainability Office is leading multi-departmental efforts to comply with the requirements of the CPRG. The Sustainability Office is currently seeking environmental consulting services to support the implementation of phase one of the CPRG. Phase one includes the update of the City’s existing climate plan: the 2021 Albuquerque Climate Action Plan and the identification of greenhouse gas reduction measures from this plan’s strategies that will benefit frontline communities. Additionally, phase one of the CPRG requires an updated greenhouse gas inventory that covers the jurisdictional boundary of Bernalillo County. The CPRG has outlined three key deliverables that need to be met in phase one, all of which require the support of environmental consultants. The Sustainability Office is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable consultant to develop an updated greenhouse gas inventory, assess and outline the environmental, economic and social impacts of proposed greenhouse gas reduction measures, and quantify the potential reduction in greenhouse gases by action proposed actions. Environmental consulting services will need to comply with all requirements of the CPRG.
