Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Provider, if so desired, may bring in a physician Assistant, nurse practitioner, or other midlevel providers to perform medical services within their scope of practice. This will be at the Providers’ expense; B. The Provider shall provide medical services to the inmates incarcerated at the Facility, utilizing all available in-house resources and services of the facility before referring the inmate for outside care; C. The Provider shall come to the facility a minimum of 5 days per week and up to 7 days if needed; D. The Provider shall examine, evaluate, diagnose, and treat all of the medical needs of the incarcerated inmates, which can include but is not limited to the following: a. Examination, treatment, and care of acute and chronic illnesses such as, but not limited to: 1. Atrial fibrillation; 2. Acute-onset mental status change; 3. Seizure management; 4. Overdose/toxicology treatment; 5. Minor trauma; 6. Gastrointestinal bleeding; 7. Chest pain/MI/EKG; 8. CHF/stroke/syncope; 9. Diabetes; 10. Infections; 11. Pregnancy; 12. Anticoagulation management; 13. Dehydration; 14. Wound care; 15. Burns/frostbite; b. Follow-up care and treatment; c. X-ray and ultrasound when deemed appropriate through the current contract with Pacific Mobile, d. Suturing/stapling; e. Minor surgical procedures and post-surgical care; f. OBGYN/prenatal check-ups for those female inmates in need; g. Prescribe pharmaceuticals utilizing the facility pharmacy formulary as much as reasonably possible for acute/chronic conditions, and for substance abuse treatment; (Note: Anything outside of the formulary will need authorization on a case-by-case basis.)
