Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: This contract, originally Contract# 226411, expired erroneously on 7/31/23. The project was not completed in that time. DHHS would like to use the same vendor for an additional three months to complete the project using the previously approved procurement. The vendor was approved as a sole source in RS22-71, which still holds true today. This is the only vendor that can provide the product as well as the outreach services. The request in Section A has been submitted to reestablish this contract as a true sole source, not a standard procurement. DHHS was awarded the federal Expanding Laboratory Capacity (ELC): Reopening Schools grant in April of 2021 to support the prevention and mitigation of COVID-19 in K-12 school environments across the state. These resources may be used to support items or activities aimed at the implementation of prevention strategies necessary to curtail the spread of COVID-19, including costs related to the provision including costs related to the provisioning of portable high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) fan/filtration systems or other small items that may allow for improved air circulation. We have a current contract in place with a community partner that has continued to demonstrate subject matter expertise in the area of indoor air filtration and has experience partnering with K-12 schools to expand UDHHS’s capacity to provide these filters to school partners. Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment (UPHE) has demonstrated this expertise.
