Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of work included under the Base Bid shall include removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials, selective demolition, and related work as indicated within this section. The scope of work under the Base Bid is identified as follows. Refer to the attached abatement diagrams for additional information. All quantities are approximate. 1. Demolition of Unregulated Building Materials – The scope of work includes demolition of unregulated interior building components to access asbestoscontaining materials. 2. Joint Compound/Gypsum Board and Overspray Abatement – Remove and dispose of up to 1,300 square feet of gypsum board with asbestos-containing joint compound, and asbestos-containing overspray along West and South perimeter walls of the IT Department Office. Asbestos-containing overspray is also present on upper walls and wood framing above the lay-in ceiling grid in these areas and should be removed and disposed. Contractor will assist in removal of toilet partition hardware and any associated debris within the men’s and women’s restroom work areas. Remove and dispose of approximately 185 square feet of gypsum wallboard and <1% asbestos-containing joint compound along the West ceiling of the proposed server space. Contractor shall remove all fasteners, other appurtenances, and interstitial wall insulation associated with the gypsum board systems. Portions of the gypsum board finishes are concealed behind other finish materials and fixtures. Multiple layers of gypsum board may be present in some areas. In areas where selective removal is specified, contractor shall provide a clean and plumb cut line and remove all texture and joint compound material within eight inches of all cut lines.
