Specifications include, but are not limited to: nterior and exterior renovations to include replacement of the stacks with office space and a level of added parking, addition of a connector between the buildings, and all required related work. Project will include preservation of the Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA) exterior, renovation and reconfiguration of the TSLA building interior, removal of the stacks portion of the building, including the vertical circulation core, and replacement with an addition meeting the functional needs of the Supreme Court. Design will include a secure and accessible connector between the TSLA building and the Supreme Court building. There will also be moderate reprogramming and rework of the Supreme Court Building as needed to meet the program and return all Court related lease locations in the Metro area to this complex. The design should embrace the opportunities of the existing facilities while considering a more modern approach to open offices. Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places, which will require interaction with the Tennessee Historic Commission.
