Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is the intent of the Facility to provide our inmate population with proper dental care within the secure perimeter of the Facility as much as possible. The Provider will ensure that all inmates receive appropriate access to high-quality, and cost-effective dental services. It is critically important that the Provider and staff at the Facility work effectively together in a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of our inmate population. The Provider will need to ensure that if they are not the dentist on site, they designate another equally qualified dentist. The Provider will also be responsible to ensure that all dental staff that will provide medical services have the following minimum qualifications: 1. Authorized and licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Utah, and all providers shall maintain active licenses and certifications at all times during this agreement. 2. Be registered with active numbers in the Medicaid/Medicare database. 3. Prior experience in correctional healthcare or other relevant medical administration. 4. Maintain an active DEA license 5. All contractors and their employees that will be entering the Facility, must be able to pass a background check in order to enter the Facility; 6. Should the Provider choose to use a dental assistant or a dental hygienist to accompany the dentist and provide dental services to the inmates, it will be at the Providers expense; 7. It will be the responsibility of the Provider to advise the Facility staff in setting up the standards and criteria for the dental care of the inmates.
