Specifications include, but are not limited to: 04.02 Inspection and Testing A. Annual fire alarm equipment testing and checking shall include the following 1. Inspect and determine if the fire alarm and detection system is in service and satisfactory condition. 2. Inspect for any changes or modifications of the fire alarm and detection system. 3. Check the general condition of the fire alarm panel and related equipment. 4. Inspect and test all smoke and heat detectors as per manufacturers’ specifications. a.) When conducting testing (NOT pass/fail, all sensitivity readings shall be recorded and compiled for final report submittal. b.) This includes addressable devices, this is important to determine the units are working to specifications, 5. All facility(s) smoke and heat detector shall be tested and documented as noted in item “4” above; this includes detectors in HVAC ductwork and in close proximity to transformers. 6. Inspect all fire alarm control panels and remote fire alarm panels. 7. Inspect and test all enunciator panels and zones. 8. Inspect all batteries. 04.03 Smoke Detector Cleaning A. All smoke detectors shall be cleaned per manufacturer’s recommendations. 04.04 WV Fire Marshal Certification A. Per WV State Fire Marshal regulations, the panel of each inspected fire alarm system shall be labeled per State code/regulations.
