Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a contractor to provide daily custodial services for the College’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital located in Knoxville, TN. PUBLIC AREAS Definitions: Includes all entrances (their steps, landings, windows (inside only), and doors to the outside, lobbies, client waiting areas, foyers, vestibules, interior stairwells and landings, elevators, corridors, and hallways. Dusting includes: Dust is removed from all surface areas. Corners and crevices must be kept free of dust, oils, spots, smudges, streaks, and dirt on surfaces. Floor cleaning includes dusting and removal of dirt and grime from baseboards and floor coving up to and including the transition from baseboard/coving to wall. Performance items: Cleaned daily unless otherwise indicated. Hard-surfaced floors, including coving/baseboards, shall be: Free of dust, grit, debris, cobwebs, surface or imbedded dirt, stains, mop streaks, heel marks, yellowed wax. Maintained with an un-streaked high gloss finish at all times All hard-surfaced floors shall be disinfected when mopped or scrubbed. Carpeted floors shall be vacuumed at least twice weekly, or more as needed, to be: Free of dust, grit, debris, and cobwebs Free of soil and stains (surface or imbedded) Baseboards: Clean and free of dust, cobwebs, stains, and yellowed wax Corners and edges: Clean and free of dust, dirt, cobwebs, and stains. Walls, ceilings, and vents: Clean and free of dust and cobwebs. Free of dirt, smudges, splatters, handprints, and heel marks. Doors: Push-plates, and area of door-facing surrounding the push plates, doorknobs and handles must be cleaned and free of grime and handprints at all times. Clean and free of dust and stains Glass clean and free of spots, streaks, and smudges Fixtures and kick plates cleaned and polished Jambs clean and free of dust and dirt Thresholds clean and free of debris and dirt Furniture: Clean and free of dust and dirt Cleaned for spots and stains upon request RESTROOMS DEFINITION: Includes all men’s and women’s restrooms, (public and private restrooms, Veterinary Medical Center restrooms, locker rooms and showers; restrooms in the 3rd-floor dormitory are excluded). All cleaned a minimum of twice a day, (mid-day and overnight) except in public areas where they will be cleaned 3 times daily (mid-morning, mid-afternoon, overnight). Public restrooms include those near entrance to library, those in the Small Animal Hospital Reception area, those in the Large Animal Hospital Reception area, and those in the Equine Performance and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Building.
