Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor will be asked to provide overflow rides to AAS clients who cannot be served by AAS paid drivers due to program capacity. AAS cannot guarantee Contractor a specific number of rides per month. 2. Contractor must be able to pick-up and drop-off clients anywhere in the geographical boundaries of Salt Lake County, including Salt Lake City. 3. Rides will typically be provided to clients for non-emergency medical appointments which can include but are not limited to private physicians, hospitals, medical treatment facilities, and other healthcare facilities. Some, but not all, of the rides to be provided will be “standing orders” which means transporting a client on a set recurring schedule. AAS will provide detailed client information including name and address of pick-up location, time and destination, and client essential needs, such as mobility, ride along companion, and any personal equipment. Ride information may be provided to the contractor by email (preferred), telephone, or other means offered by the Contractor. a. Rides are typically provided for individuals aged 60 years and older. b. A companion rider must be 12 years of age or older, must be accompanied by an adult, and must ride in the back seat of the vehicle. i. Requests for approval to transport a companion rider under the age of 12 must be made in advance and approved by AAS. 4. Contractor will maintain service standards required by and on the authority of Salt Lake County agencies at the level of care required for the older adult population. a. Contractor is required to follow and enforce the State of Utah Department of Human Services Licensing DHS Code of Conduct and Client Rights (Exhibit A). Contractor must maintain a signed and dated DHS Code of Conduct and 6 Client Rights (Exhibit A) for each driver and administrative staff member providing services under the resulting contract. 5. Contractor will prioritize ride requests from the RFW program for non-emergency medical transportation services and will only provide non-emergency nonmedical transportation services to other AAS programs if the contractor has sufficient capacity.
