Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project includes the demolition and replacement of a 125,000-gallon steel water tank, concrete and timber foundations, timber decking, valves and piping, valve enclosures and other miscellaneous improvements for the City. The public water system is gravity-fed from a small dam across Humpy Creek, which fills a 125,000-gallon raw water storage tank that is situated on a timber platform. The existing steel tank and foundation are failing and are now operating at approximately half the tank capacity. This project will replace the water tank and foundation to enable the community to operate its water system at full capacity. The work includes all labor, materials and equipment to install a water tank by-pass system to provide for continued water system service during construction. In addition, the work includes all labor, materials and equipment to demolish and dispose of the existing water tank, existing reinforced concrete foundations, existing timber foundations, timber foundation structure and existing valve enclosures and all miscellaneous components removed to accommodate construction of the new water tank and foundation. The contractor should note that the community does not have the capacity to accommodate the disposal of debris from this construction project and, therefore, the contractor is responsible for removal and the disposal of all associated debris in accordance with applicable waste management regulations. The work includes all labor, materials and equipment for the construction of a 125,000-gallon bolted steel water tank, nineteen (19) reinforced concrete foundations, fifty (50) reinforced concrete and timber foundations, timber glulam stringers, glulam decking, attachment of existing piping to new water tank, installation of new overflow piping, insulated valve enclosures and all other miscellaneous components detailed in the contract documents.
