Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 Objectives/Goals of the Planning Process • Create a clear and precise vision for the development of facilities and infrastructure for all of Eastern Kentucky University and Eastern Kentucky University Foundation. • Provide the materials necessary to effectively communicate Eastern Kentucky University’s Master Plan to its varied audiences. • Accomplish stewardship of resources by identifying the best use of our 912-acre main campus, approximately 400 acres of which are relatively undeveloped (south campus), utilizing best practices with regard to sustainability. • Provide a detailed, comprehensive plan for the development of the above referenced acreage comprising EKU’s south campus, utilizing best practices with regard to sustainability. This component shall include an array of potential future uses, including but not limited to P-3 partnerships, auxiliary services (i.e., housing, dining, recreational, other); and should include infrastructure and circulation planning required to serve the number of faculty, staff and students with expanded enrollment from 14,000 to approximately 25,000. • Attract and retain students, faculty and staff by improving the quality and aesthetics of the campus. • Reach consensus on planning issues of importance to the future of the campus. • Develop a Space Utilization Plan for eastern Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University regional campuses and Eastern Kentucky University Foundation. The University is seeking to work with a firm having specific expertise and recent experience in providing comprehensive planning to several major university campuses with an emphasis on comprehensive regional universities. Because of the comprehensive nature of this plan there may be firms partnering with “subconsultants.” The “Primary Consultant” is the managing firm through which all correspondence with EKU will be routed. 3.2 Service Requirements The Master Plan shall include recommendations to accommodate an enrollment growth scenario of 25,000, provide an alternate impact assessment to accommodate potential future enrollment growth, and identify opportunities for future legacy building footprints.
