Specifications include, but are not limited to: SPECIFICATIONS FOR LIQUID MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION: • Product shall be listed on the Clear Roads Qualified Products List (QPL) (https://clearroads.org/qualifiedproduct-list/). • A table showing Freezing Point-Specific Gravity for various percentage dilutions of product in water shall be provided. Table shall include data starting from at least 5% product in water and continue to include the percentage product in water to produce the eutectic (lowest freezing point) composition. • Bids must be accompanied with the most recent detailed product specification sheet and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). All documents must be clearly legible. NH DOT reserves the right to request up to two (2) gallons of product, at no additional cost, for verification testing. LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The product shall be a 31% solution of calcium chloride in water and contain corrosion inhibitors and tested to be less corrosive than salt. The solution shall conform to the following requirements as to the chemical composition: • WATER------------------------------------------------------------------------- 56% +/- 2% • CALCIUM CHLORIDE------------------------------------------------------ 31% +/- 1% • BLEND OF LIGNINS-------------------------------------------------------- 10% +/-1% • TOTAL ALKALI CHLORIDES (AS OF SODIUM CHLORIDE) ---- 2% MAXIMUM • MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE------------------------------------------------ 0.01% MAXIMUM • PH------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7 to 10 (as is) The product shall be provided by the manufacturer in a true solution and shall not be reconstituted from flake calcium chloride. • To be pumped into state owned tanks.
