Specifications include, but are not limited to: The objective of this multi-phase project is to re-establish Utah Juniper and Pinyon Pine trees back into the landscape at Camp Williams in strategic or locations of historical presence. Young tree seedlings will be planted in sites conducive to their successful establishment. They will need irrigation for a few years to improve growth and rooting. Overall tasks to be completed: a micro irrigation system design, materials purchased (irrigation equipment), installation of the irrigation system, an inspection of the installation and planting of the tree seedlings. The tasks that are included for this scope of work consist of site reconnaissance, irrigation system design, quantities and approximate costs of supplies and equipment, and oversight on irrigation system implementation. The site for this project is approximately 6 acres, identified as Training Area 51, located about 20 minutes travel time from the front gate. The location is at Camp Williams where, historically, soldiers have bivouacked and mature junipers have provided cover and concealment. In 2012 a fire burned all of the trees in this project area and surrounding landscape. Most of the herbaceous cover has re-established but the trees have not returned. The soil is gravelly with large boulders on the surface. Dead juniper trees still stand but some are falling over as they decay. We envision this site having a water storage tank, a gas powered pump with irrigation lines going to each tree with an emitter. Each tree will receive 2 gallons of water approximately 3 times per week.
