Specifications include, but are not limited to: Monthly Duties: o Keep landscape areas, decorative rock areas and beds free of weeds with the use of chemical application of herbicides by a licensed applicator when needed. (Notify the DEPARMENT of all such applications). o Rake out tire ruts and remove rock from paved areas and hydraulic appurtenances. o Trim and shape shrubs to maintain form and vigor and prevent overhang on hard surface areas. o Plant maintenance such as pruning, staking, bracing, and thinning. o Pick up and dispose of plant cuttings, dead leaves, litter, and debris. o Maintain decorative walls, boulders, and image panels. o Graffiti removal (not including sound walls and bridge components). o Repair erosion. o Repairs due to storm events or traffic accidents. o Pest and rodent control. o Mitigate harm from insects and diseases as needed. o Complete repairs as requested by the DEPARTMENT’s Project Manager. **** If the selected SERVICE PROVIDER offers tree pruning / shaping services, this will be added to the list of monthly duties and included in the negotiated pricing. Quarterly Duties o Remove and replace dead trees, plants, etc. at the direction of the DEPARTMENT. o Perform plant establishment tasks such as watering, weeding, and re-planting for all replaced plants. Annual Duties o Apply a balanced, granular fertilizer each spring to maintain plant vigor. o Maintain and repair fertilization/injection system on site. o Flush drip irrigation system. o Re-mulch trees using a wood-based mulch or similar acceptable product that must be pre-approved by the DEPARTMENT. o Replace decorative rock as needed to maintain consistency.
