Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Bidder is to develop and construct a system that will provide play features that are of one color, scheme and theme. b. The proposed playground would sit on top of an approximately 60’X45’ poured in place rubber base. i. All safety surfacing should be installed per the manufacturer’s recommendations and should meet fall zone requirements and IPEMA certification. c. The proposal should include design, delivery and installation of all features and equipment, and installation of poured in place base. i. County staff will remove existing playset and perform any necessary excavation to prepare the site for base and installation of equipment. ii. County staff will construct a sidewalk around the playground perimeter. d. An overall design that promotes interaction and safe play between children of all abilities is desired while also following: i. the US Department of Justice 2010 Standards for Accessible Design including the ASTM Standards F1487, F1292, and F1951 as referenced in the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design. ii. § 35.151(c) Accessibility standards for new construction and alterations iii. All play equipment shall meet ASTM F1487-12 standards for safety, IPEMA certification document shall be submitted with product sheets. iv. Contractor, fabricator, and installer are responsible for the structural integrity of all equipment, for proper installation of all equipment, and for meeting all applicable safety requirements. e. The primary age group for the playground is ages 5-12. f. The equipment should include a mixture of play features that are ADA accessible and/or inclusive with: i. At least one sensory play feature or panel ii. A main structure that includes a transfer station and a “slide a side” type slide iii. A climbing feature iv. Swing set or swing feature that includes a toddler swing, belt type swings, and an ADA accessible swing g. Submit shop drawings and manufacturer product data for all play equipment for review by the County. h. Locations of playground elements and equipment should be staked and reviewed with the County prior to installation. i. A guaranteed maximum total bid price for completion of the project is expected
