Specifications include, but are not limited to: develop and implement an internal data dashboard within the NDE. This Request for Information (RFI) is seeking information from industry knowledgeable vendors that will enhance the State’s understanding of how to best approach this work and to learn of any solution options. Interested vendors are encouraged to provide insight to different approaches for deploying, maintaining and enhancing (over time) a Department Data Dashboard by responding to this RFI. The following are some of requirements of the NDE, please provide a solution to meet these requirements and feel free to provide solutions to requirements not identified below. In case there are one or two items which make the solution either very difficult or expensive, the NDE encourages vendors to also submit alternate approaches to meet the requirement. RFI responses will provide general product and vendor experience overviews, high-level project approach information, and solution costing information for planning purposes. Please note that since this would be an internal Department Data Dashboard, public access and authorization would not be needed as all information and data is behind and protected by the Department and State firewall. The solution must interface with the Department’s existing access and identity management system, Rapid Identity, for internal user authentication and access levels. These requirements may vary depending on the changing needs and objectives of the Department. That being said, these are the requirements the Department has identified at this time as essential in the development of a Department Data Dashboard. The purpose of the dashboard is to provide internal users access to real-time or near real-time Department data displayed visually and downloadable as a csv file. The data dashboard may initially present static data and eventually incorporate algorithms for data analysis. Individual Department offices may maintain their own data collection, warehouse and reporting solutions—the Department Data Dashboard must link and integrate to all these individual data sources. This may involve data extraction, transformation, API and loading (ETL) processes to consolidate data from these multiple sources. The data dashboard solution must maintain established Department data quality and accuracy standards and should include a data validation processes to identify and address data inconsistencies or errors. The design must be intuitive and user friendly and sufficiently sophisticated to allow users to easily navigate and interact with the dashboard while providing a robust amount of information and data for their particular use. All information and data must be downloadable by the user. It is not a requirement that the dashboard be viewable across various devices; given the nature of the information and data presented in the dashboard, it will only be accessible internally on State computers. System must comply with all Department and State Information Technology requirements The Department Data Dashboard would provide real-time or near-real-time information and data. A once a day or twenty-four-hour data refresh of the dashboard would meet the Department’s needs. However, it is not known how often any individual office’s data is refreshed. The dashboard would be scalable to accommodate growth or changes in required data collection and reporting and would be designed to handle any of the types of data sets it would link to. The visualization should be appropriate for the intended use—tables, charts, graphs, maps---to effectively provide and communicate any insights and trends in the data. Future versions or iterations might include customizable reporting capabilities that allow users to generate specific reports or completed machine-run analysis.
