Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) The contractor shall pump (no skimming) the grease tanks empty. B) The contractor shall scrape and clean sides of the grease tanks. 1.3 The contractor shall dispose of all grease removed from the tanks in accordance, with all local, state, and federal laws governing such materials. C) The contractor shall forward the waste manifest to City of Salem. D) The contractor will clean any spillage or waste materials that leak from the truck. E) The contractor shall agree to respond to emergency calls from the Salem-Keizer School District to pump any grease trap when deemed necessary by the Salem-Keizer School District. F) Acceptable services for traps and tanks shall include: Complete removal of all waste material. Scrape and clean walls. Clean any spillage and leave in a clean, sanitary condition. No water shall be returned from the truck to either side of trap or tank. If water is needed to help clean traps or tanks to the satisfaction of the City of Salem, no additional charges will be accepted. All lids are to be secured as found. Copies of City and State "Trip Tickets", including City Facility by name, must be provided with invoices to show proper disposal of waste material. All Waste Transporter permits required by the city will be the responsibility of the contractor that is awarded this contract. G) All grease traps regardless of size shall be cleaned in accordance with the best of industry standards including such service as but not exclusively the following: Scraping down the sides of the trap with the appropriate equipment. Washing out trap with high-pressure hose and clean water, BACK WASHING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Pumping must remove all waste leaving the trap as clean and dry as possible. Remove all foreign materials found in the trap. Hauling away waste must be done in an approved truck. Disposal and treatment of waste shall be conformed to Federal, State, County and City laws and ordinances and a chain of custody scrupulously maintained.
