Specifications include, but are not limited to: administer the certification of operators for sewage treatment plants. The Nevada Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification Program (Certification Program) issues certification for sewage treatment operators in compliance with the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 445A.287, that requires a person responsible for the operation and maintenance of a sewage treatment plant be certified as an operator. Services to be provided under this request-for-proposal (RFP) include effective administration of the Certification Program and a thorough evaluation of the impact of the Legislative Council Bureau (LCB) File No. 155-17 on the certified operators. These services include timely distribution and evaluation of applications for certification; administering standardized examinations for certification; evaluation and approval of relevant continuing education, postsecondary courses of instruction, and contact hours; facilitating communication among operators, stakeholders and the Division regarding the status of the Certification Program, applications and the certification process; and performing other duties, as necessary, for the effective administration of the Certification Program.
