Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Derby Public Works - Utilities Division is requesting bids to install fiber optic cable and associated materials and equipment to extend the data network between Water and Wastewater facilities and sites, identified on attached maps. The selected contractor will be expected to install the fiber optic cable and provide terminations and equipment as specified at each site. We anticipate the majority of this project to require trenching and directional boring utilizing existing rights-of-way and easements. It will be contractors’ responsibility to acquire any additional working/storage space outside of existing easements and rights-of-way. The City will provide a staging area in the northwest corner of High Park. • 1-1/4 inch SDR 13.5 poly conduit • Minimum depth of 24 inches in rights-of-way • Minimum depth of 36 inches under streets, in the utility easement (from the top of manholes) and at creek crossings • No open cutting or trenching of streets or creek crossings, must be bored • Hand holes must be 3’x3’x3’ with “communication” labeled on the lid as required with 20’ of repair loop of fiber. No greater than 600’ of separation between hand holes • 4 inches of rock must be placed under each hand hole
