Specifications include, but are not limited to: The approximate size of the pickleball courts that are referenced in this RFP is 60 ft W X 120 ft L. Vendor must allow for wheelchair access on the asphalt edging in front of entrance gates, approximately 4 entrance gates. Vendor will provide a new mix to fill voids and low spots to prepare the surface for the overlay. Contractor must submit the asphalt mix design to the City for approval before installation. Tack must be applied to existing asphalt. Vendor must mill asphalt along the edges where the asphalt joins any concrete and other asphalt (excluding concrete curbing and raised sidewalks) so that the new overlay will tie in flush in those areas. The pavement must be thoroughly cleaned, and loose dirt and debris removed. Must have 2-inch binder in 15’ X 140’ area to match existing paved area. Must have 2-inch topping over entire 60 X 120 area to achieve 1% grade. Vendor must pave with 1% grade/slope on court. Vendor must also provide and install a 2 coat resurfacer and a 2-coat color and a 1-coat seal line. Vendor must paint all linings of the 4 sets of pickleball courts. Vendor will apply (1) coat of SportMaster Acrylic Color Coating or equivalent, to the entire surface of the area which helps smooth the surface by filling voided and provides adhesion to the existing surface for the first color coat. Apply (2) coats of SportMaster Acrylic Color Coating or equivalent, loaded with fine sand to the entire surface of the area. Colors must be different for the outer portion of the court and the inner portion of the court and surrounding border of the courts. Colors will be decided by the JFFC director, Alex Major. Vendor must provide striping of traditional pickleball lines and number the courts in the gray surrounding surface area. All lines will be taped and no spray equipment will be allowed. All lines will be 2” in width. Placed asphalt shall meet TDOT specifications for in place density measures or an average of 92%, whichever is greater. Vendor must show that diligent planning will be undertaken not to introduce any cold joints on the asphalt surface course. Asphalt must be allowed to cure for 30 days before any acrylic material is applied. A one-year warranty against cracks, workmanship, etc. must be provided. If repairs are to be made within the year, it will be at the vendor’s expense or an agreement be made with the City of Lebanon.
