Specifications include, but are not limited to: Line Item 1 – Ray Mesa Phase 3 Location and Description: Services in this contract provide for wildfire hazard reduction on the Ray Mesa 3 project area by mechanically removing/shredding green and dead Pinyon and Juniper (Cedar) trees with bullhog type equipment. The Contractor is to furnish labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to clear project areas up to an approximate 578.6 acres. The project area is located approximately 7 miles east of La Sal, UT near the Utah/Colorado state line (see project area and vicinity maps). The table below has a summary of treatment units and acres. Mastication: All dead and dying (red needle) pinyon and juniper within the unit boundaries shall be completely severed from the stump. All green (live) pinyon and juniper trees up to 12 inches measured at the root collar (DRC) shall be completely severed from the stump. No live or dead limbs shall be left on the stump of cut trees. Stump height shall not exceed 6 inches measured on the uphill side. All main branches or stems shall be severed from the trunk of the tree unless otherwise identified by the COR. Shredding: All existing dead slash on site shall be mechanically shredded. All green and dead slash throughout the treatment area shall not exceed a fuel bed depth of 6 inches measured from the soil. Line Item 2 – La Sal Private Property Location and Description: Services in this contract provide for mechanically removing/shredding green and dead Pinyon and Juniper (Cedar) trees with bullhog type equipment. The project area is located approximately one mile Northeast of La Sal, UT (see project area and vicinity maps). The table below has a summary of treatment units and acres.
