Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bidder must provide all information related to warranty for this project. All mobilization, equipment, materials, and labor costs shall be included in the bid. All products provided under the terms of this contract shall be new and free from defects in material and workmanship. It is the bidder’s responsibility to clearly list any exclusions to the minimum requirements listed above that they cannot meet. The bidder must also list anything that the City will need to provide in order to make this project a success. Purchases are to be made only as authorized by a purchase order issued by the City of Hays. The slide is a fiberglass slide that is approximately 144’ long and 44” wide and was made and installed by Whitewater West. Known issues: - Start tub has small chip in flange that needs repaired. - Slide exterior is dirty and has never been washed. - Slide interior has “spanned” joints. Unsure of material used. - Slide interior has a few minor chips/scratches in the ride path. - Endcap has cracks at the copings. - Slide interior is weathered and aging. - Some or all joints need adjusted. The following are expected as part of this project: EXTERIOR: - High pressure water (4,000 psi) cleaning using PAC detergent to remove any grease, oil and oxidation as per SSPC-SP1 on exterior of slide. - Power-tool prepare any rusted surfaces with D.L. sanders, grinders and wire wheel. - Remove all delaminated gelcoat. - Prime bare fiberglass where gelcoat was removed and other areas, including bare steel, corroded areas, rigging scrapes, burnishes, and welds using Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646. - Recoat the exterior with a hi-solids Polyurethane. Exterior shall be white in color. INTERIOR: - Remove material that was used to span the existing fiberglass joints. - Sand the entire interior to remove all failed coating and to create an adhesion profile. - Make all necessary repairs to gelcoat. - Repair all chips. - Level all joints with hand tooling and complete any sanding/repairs necessary to create a functioning slide joint that is smooth for users with minimal elevation changes across the profile. - Recoat interior using Maxguard LEI Series Ashland Gelcoat with Duratech high gloss additive (or approved equivalent) at 22-24 mils. White in color. - After cure, wet sand and buff and wax any imperfections with 800 and 1000 grit sandpaper. - Caulk all joints using Sikaflex 291. ALTERNATE 1: - The City of Hays is including an Alternate 1 on the Summary Bid Form. Alternate 1 is for an entirely NEW SLIDE, using the existing base posts. White in color.
