Specifications include, but are not limited to: repair and maintenance contractors to provide field services for the Town’s traffic signal system and to provide preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on the Town’s traffic signals and supporting infrastructure. The project scope encompasses on-call traffic light maintenance and repair activities for 70 signalized intersections and 20 pedestrian crossing signals. The Contractor shall provide traffic light maintenance services, possible fixture replacement and emergency repair services for the Town. The Contractor shall also provide new traffic signal installation services in instances when the Town owns, or will own, the pole or supporting structures of the fixture. In the provision of the services, the Contractor shall use only signals, control boxes, mounting brackets and accessories that meet the Town of West Hartford’s standards. The Contractor shall provide all necessary signing, cones, barricades, or other traffic safety equipment to provide a safe work area. The Contractor shall conform to the Connecticut Department of Transportation work zone traffic control requirements. Maintenance and Protection of Traffic will be paid for under the lump sum item, which shall include all associated costs.
