Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Arizona approved the establishment of Division 7 of the Yuma County Superior Court on April 4, 2022. With this expansion of the Courts, it has become necessary to relocate other entities within the overall Yuma County Justice Complex in order to accommodate and align all groups and services appropriately. To that end, the County intends to complete the following: • Relocate the Yuma County Public Defender’s office out of the Historic Courthouse at 168 S. 2nd Ave. (2nd floor) • Restore a former small courtroom on the 3rd floor of the Historic Courthouse (currently being used as a library, offices and break room), to be utilized by Yuma County Justice Court Precinct 1. • Renovate the majority of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Historic Courthouse to be used for offices, Judge’s chambers, holding cells, and customer services areas for the various divisions of Justice Court Precinct 1.
