Specifications include, but are not limited to: A certified athletic trainer licensed to practice in accordance with State and Federal regulations who will: 1) Coordinate, organize, and supervise the sports medicine program for Henderson County High School. 2) Operate on-campus training room during school including but not limited to preventative taping, bracing, restocking medicine kits, etc. 3) Facilitate preventative medical training related to sports injury and rehabilitation. 4) Communicate with school officials, physicians, parents, and players about the management of athletic injuries. 5) Oversee the purchase of medical supplies and inventory with the athletic director. 6) Maintain accurate medical records and reports on all athletes as deemed necessary by school officials with input from the Athletic Trainer. 7) Coordinate treatment and rehabilitation services for injuries with affiliated doctors if the family chooses to use our selected provider from this RFP including follow-up sessions. 8) Provide practice coverage (high schools), evaluation and treatment of injuries, documentation, and injury prevention education during the calendar week starting at 2:30 pm until the end of the regularly scheduled practice time. In addition to practice, the Athletic Trainer will provide service at all home sporting events as dictated by the Athletic Director (All High School Home Sporting events) and at all away varsity football games. All athletes (Middle and High) will have access to the Athletic Trainer. (Post-season and in-season tournament play coverage may be set by the Athletic Director and communicated to the Athletic Trainer.) 9) Establish/review an emergency plan for each sport and venue, under the direction/advisement of the HCHS athletic director, enabling the EMS system when necessary. This plan will include procedures to follow when temperatures are elevated during the summer months. 10) At the request of the Athletic Director, conduct clinics on injury prevention, strength and conditioning, emergency procedures and sports injury management for coaches and athletes. 11) Maintain a professional and ethical working relationship with all stakeholders. 12) Follow all Henderson County Policies and Procedures to ensure fair treatment of all student-athletes, their coaches, and parents. 13) Assist in the coordination of physical examinations for middle and high school athletes at an agreed upon per student fee – see proposal form. 14) Awarded firm must provide a cell phone number with 24-hour emergency on-call access and communicate this number to all Athletic Directors, Principals, and Head Coaches. 15) Provide certified strength and conditioning programs for Henderson County High School athletes. Additional programs will be added for an agreed-upon fee. 16) Assist athletes with emergency medications. 17) At the request of parents / legal guardians have the ability to quickly arrange MRI or other testing as needed. 18) On-site performance of a baseline concussion test for all contact sports including Baseball, Basketball, Football, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Wrestling. 19) Provide access to both male and female sports injury specialists as needed
