Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project consists of the reclaiming of approximately 20,195 square yards of existing bituminous concrete wearing course of Arcadia Ave, Davis St Ext, Hillcrest Ave (Oakville), Evelyn St, Barbara Ln, and Englewood Ave in Watertown, Connecticut. The reclaimed areas are then to have a base course of Class 1 bituminous concrete to a depth of approximately 2 inches (approximately 2,323 tons), then overlaying of the base Course with a course of Class 2 bituminous concrete to a depth of approximately 2 inches (approximately 2,323 tons), Base Course must be completed within ten working days after the reclaiming is performed. Tack shall be applied before Top course is placed if not paved within 7 days of the placement of the Base Course. This work shall consist of the preparation of an asphalt stabilized base course composed of a mixture of existing hot mix asphalt and existing base material. It shall be performed in accordance with these specifications and conformity with the existing line, grade and cross section as directed by the Town on site. In general, the work shall consist of reclaiming approximately (0 to 18) inches of existing bituminous concrete, removal of all curbing, and base material, grading and compacting the reclaimed material to approximately the existing line and grade in preparation of placing 4” of new bituminous concrete, in two 2” lifts. Contractor is solely responsible for dust control, which shall be included in the unit price of the work items.
