Specifications include, but are not limited to: SIGN BLANK SPECIFICATIONS: •All aluminum sheet sign blank material offered within this bid shall conform to ASTM B 209, Alloy 6061-T6 or Alloy 5052-H38. • The minimum thickness of the sheet less than 36” in longest dimension shall be 0.080”. • Signs 36” or greater in longest dimension shall be a minimum of 0.100” unless otherwise requested at time of order. • The Aluminum shall be properly degreased and etched or treated in accordance with ASTM B449 Class 2 •All sheets are to receive an Alodine 1200 coating or equal to meet the Federal Specifications MIL-C05541. • This treatment may be performed before trimming, punching, drilling and other operations are that performed on the blanks. SIGN BLANK HOLE PUNCHING SPECIFICATIONS: All sign blanks that are requested to be hole punched will utilize the M.U.T.C.D. and Standard Highway Signs book punching standard unless otherwise specified at time of order. You may review or download these books on the FHWA web site http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov. The Standard Highway Signs book is located under the “Knowledge” section as SHS. Hole punching will be specified at the time of each order and will be performed at no additional cost.
