Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Maintaining demographic, cause of death and injury data in the format prescribed for VT Death Certificate as well as data required for reporting to multiple national databases in the format prescribed for these systems. • Storing and facilitating access to documents, photos associated with a case • Tracking of evidence in a manner that assures clear maintenance of chain of custody • Ordering and receiving toxicology reports from participating labs • Generating invoices for expenses incurred by participants in an investigation • Generating and logging release of reports about a case • Maintaining communication logs related to cases • Generating automated alerts and statistical reporting based upon case data • The capacity to generate and automate submission of data to national systems that monitor issues related to death investigations • The capacity to exchange data with the State Electronic Death Registration System via FHIR messaging • Facilitating access to cases involving potential donation by organ procurement organizations • Facilitating access to data by State analysts for planning and monitoring
