Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Item 1: Fine Sand a. Prospective Contractor shall deliver a quantity of seventy-five (75) tons of fine sand. b. Prospective Contractor shall deliver fine sand by September 11, 2023. c. Prospective Contractor shall make sure sand meets or exceeds USGA quality for sand used on golf courses. d. Sand must be white in color. e. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand is washed and contains three percent (3%) or less total silt plus clay. f. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand contains less than three percent (3%) gravel and seven percent (7%) very coarse sand particles. g. Prospective Contractor shall meet the following particle diameters for sand: i. 0.25 mm: should contain thirteen percent (13%) or more particles in this range. ii. 0.15 mm: should contain fifty-five percent (55%) or less particles in this range. iii. 0.5 mm: should contain thirty percent (30%) or less particles in this range. h. The optimal particle shape must be angular with a low degree of sphericity. i. The sand must not contain rocks or pebbles. i. The park will accept finer sand, with no additional cost to the park. j. Prospective Contractor shall schedule delivery to the park area as stated in a resultant contract. k. Prospective Contractor shall submit vehicle liability insurance on the delivery vehicles prior to contract award. B. Item 2: Bunker Sand a. Prospective Contractor shall deliver a quantity of twenty-five (25) tons of bunker sand. b. Prospective Contractor shall deliver bunker sand by September 11, 2023. c. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand meets or exceeds USGA quality for sand used on golf courses. d. Sand must be white in color. e. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand is washed and contains three percent (3%) or less of total silt plus clay. f. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand contains less than three percent (3%) gravel and seven percent (7%) very coarse sand particles. g. Prospective Contractor shall meet the following particle diameters for sand: i. 0.25-1.0 mm: should contain sixty-five percent (65%) or more particles in this range. ii. 0.5-0.25 mm: should contain twenty-five percent (25%) or less particles in this range. h. The optimal particle shape must be angular with a low degree of sphericity. i. The sand must not contain rocks or pebbles. i. The park will accept finer bunker sand, with no additional cost to the park. . j. Prospective Contractor shall schedule delivery to the park as stated in a resultant contract. k. Prospective Contractor shall submit vehicle liability insurance on the delivery vehicles prior to contract award. C. Item 3: Bunker Sand a. Prospective Contractor shall deliver a quantity of fifty (50) tons of bunker sand. b. Prospective Contractor shall deliver bunker sand by March 11, 2024. c. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand meets or exceeds USGA quality for sand used on golf courses. d. Sand must be white in color. e. Prospective Contractor shall ensure sand is washed and containing three percent (3%) or less total silt plus clay. f. Prospective Contractor shall endure the sand contains less than three percent (3%) gravel and seven percent (7%) very coarse sand particles. g. Prospective Contractor shall meet the following particle diameters for sand: i. 0.25-1.0 mm: should contain sixty-five percent (65%) or more particles in this range. ii. 0.5-0.25 mm: should contain twenty-five (25%) or less particles in this range. h. The optimal particle shape must be angular with a low degree of sphericity. i. The sand must not contain rocks for pebbles. i. The park will accept finer bunker sand, with no additional cost to the park. j. Prospective Contractor shall schedule delivery to the park as stated in a resultant contract. k. Prospective Contractor shall provide vehicle liability insurance on the delivery trucks prior to contract award.
