The equipment will enable the measurements of oxidizable chemicals and heavy metals that can be found in food packaging and contribute to understanding the chemical and metals food and environmental safety risks. Chemicals and metals of interest include endocrine modulating/disrupting chemicals (bisphenols and phthalates), per and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS), heavy metals (cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, arsenic, etc.). The system will also be used to quantify amino acids and similar molecules.
