Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Phase one consists of the provision and installation of a new, networked, non-proprietary, fire alarm system equipped with an emergency voice evacuation system. Work includes provision and installation of new fire alarm control units (nodes) adjacent existing fire alarm control units. Provision, installation, and routing of new fire alarm wire/cable and conduit between new nodes. 2. The Contractor shall provide, unless, otherwise indicated, a state of the art, fully addressable, networked fire alarm system equipped with an in-building fire emergency voice alarm communication system hereby referred to as “the system” with full interface with other related systems as outlined in these specifications and shown on the contract drawings. The Contractor shall provide all work including equipment, raceways, conduit, wire, cable, fiber optic cable, junction boxes, panel/cabinet mounting, connections and terminations, submittals, system programming and system commission testing that is required for a complete and operating system. The work provided shall meet the requirements in accordance with this specification. 3. Replace the existing fire alarm system with a new state of the art addressable fire alarm system equipped with an in-building fire emergency voice alarm communication system. The system provided shall generate and distribute an automatic alert tone followed by a pre-recorded voice message announcement throughout the building(s) in addition to producing a “live” voice message announcement using a manually hand-held microphone and associated selector switches. The system provided shall be networked and capable of communicating between fire alarm control units via copper wire or fiber optic cable.
