Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Area of Operations consists of two units, totaling 200 trees. The purpose of the operation is to remove dead and dying trees that may become dangerous to park goers and may damage infrastructure if trees fail. This operation stands to be very technical due to the abundance of infrastructure around the hazard tree removal areas. For this reason, the work shall be completed by using a variety of removal techniques including; climbing and controlled directionally felling by using chainsaws, bucket trucks, feller-buncher and/or harvester. Ground protection matting or other material may be required to protect surfaces when removing many of the identified trees. Treatment of trees to be removed includes some of all of the following; snag creation, large down wood creation and placement, staging logs for future fish and wildlife use, log processing and hauling to local mills, chipping in place, and chipping and removal.
