Specifications include, but are not limited to: - 4 each 2010 Model or newer Graders, Articulating Caterpillar 140M or equivalent, with fourteen-foot (14’) moldboard, approved M.O.A. spec snow gate, Standard, 6 radial all season siped tires, 6 tire chains, permanent mounted VHF F.M. two-way radio to communicate with each other, “Stay Back 50 Feet” signs, “Oversize” signs, rear back up light, amber strobe top and rear, tow chain/cable/strap, reflectors/flares. Additionally, equipment shall meet all State of Alaska, Division of Motor Vehicles requirements. ¾ inch straight edge cutting edges are standard. At the discretion of the Administrator, cutting edges, defined as 1/2” straight edges and 5/8” serrated edges may be required and shall be paid at an additional 5% of the bid rate. Winter use only - estimated hours are for the four grader units. A. Bidders must bid and be able to provide a minimum of 15 side dumps for each 10-hour shift. Shifts may be up to 12 hours during heavy snow responses. B. Equipment and operator shall be available on six hours’ notice to report to work locations designated by the Administrator or designee at time of “callout”. The Contractor must provide a contact number for 24-hour contact and guarantee a response of no longer than five minutes after “call-out” is initiated to any cellular phone (via text), email, phone recorders, or answering services employed by Contractor to answer such “callout” requests.
