Specifications include, but are not limited to: - All inspections and testing will be within a 90 day time frame. - Any part of the backflow prevention system is to be inspected. After the test, if there is a preventer, check valve, etc., that is leaking or in need of repair, vendor is to retest the assembly after repair or replacement to ensure proper operation. - Double check valves (Backflow Preventers) shall be tested utilizing an acceptable differential pressure gauge. - Assemblies shall be tested at one PSI in the direction of flow. - Using a differential pressure gauge with the high side of the gauge connected to the inlet side of each check valve the gauge shall be held at the top of the downstream reference point tube and the downstream side of the check at atmospheric pressure. - Vacuuum breakers should be air inlets of pressure type and shall be tested for opening loads of no less than 1.0 psi.
