Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The following provides a general description of the improvements to pumps 1, 2 and 3 in well 90-1 that are included in this project. These descriptions are for the benefit of the contractor and are not intended to fully describe the work or limit in anyway other requirements described in these specifications. B. Well 90-1, Pumps 1, 2 and 3 1. Removal of the building roof in a manner to allow for later re-installation 2. Removal of pumps and motors, and coordinate handing motors off to Owner 3. Blasting and recoating of about 60’ of 18” column pipe and bearing retainers on each pump 4. Replacement of wear parts, including bearings, sleeves, nuts, and bolts on the column pipe and pump 5. Inspection of pump impellers and bowls for adherence with tolerances between impellers and wear rings per the manufacturer specifications; replacement of wear rings; Inspection of all other pump components; Provide summary inspection report to Owner; a. Contractor shall include a $6k allowance in their bid for use in the event other pump components need further work based on the results of the inspection report. The allowance shall cover modifying or replacing the shaft, bushings, collets or other parts not mentioned in Section 3.03 Pump 1, 2 and 3 Rehabilitation. At the end of the project, the unused portion of this allowance will be deducted from the project via change order. Minor material preparation such as cleaning flanges and touch up painting will not be grounds for a change order. 6. Inspection and straightening of shafts 7. Replace shaft sleeves 8. Replacement of pump intake strainers 9. Rehabilitation of motors 10. Check alignment of discharge piping 11. Reinstallation of pumps and motors 12. Reinstallation of building roof 13. 2-hour pump testing to confirm operation 14. Site restoration around well 90-1
