Contractor must mulch or mow all willow, dogwood, young aspen, and other brush species within the areas outlined on the attached maps 2. All standing woody vegetation will be mulched or mowed to within 4 inches of ground level throughout the project site 3. The basal diameter and stem densities of willow and young aspen vary greatly within the site o Certain areas may have scattered or dense stands of brush with stem basal diameters less than 1 inch o The vast majority of willow have stem diameters of 3.0 inches or less o There may be scattered young aspen mixed among the willow in the project area. 4. Debris will be scattered, and debris piles will not be allowed o The trunks or stems of woody vegetation with basal diameters greater than 4” will be mulched and not left whole on the ground if knocked down 5. Access to the site is via field road off County Road 1 o Access to the project sites is generally good. Staging areas for equipment are available on the West and East sides of County Road 1 as indicated in the attached maps Contractor is responsible for establishing trails (by mowing) to the project site from the staging areas, but the distance is relatively short o The ground within the project area is anticipated to by dry enough for work during the specified work period. 6. Scattered surface rocks may be present within the project area o Areas containing large concentrations of rocks may be excluded from mowing if approved by the project supervisor o Contractor will not be paid for excluded areas 7. The work must substantially complete and ready for inspection by October 20, 2023.
