Specifications include, but are not limited to: Water System Installation Services W1. Well Drilling a. CONTRACTOR is to drill to approximately 155 FT develop a residential water well. Should well depths exceed these depths, the CONTRACTOR must contact the Project Officer/Project Manager in writing (via email) to obtain written approval, prior to any additional drilling. b. Compensation may include payment for labor, drilling, steel casing, PVC liners, well logging, alignment test, drive shoes, sanitary well cap and marking, well development (items not included under test pumping) and other necessary items required for well drilling. Payment for well drilling as specified shall be made at the unit price bid based on the number of linear feet drilled and casing installed. c. No payment shall be made for well drilling not authorized by the Project Officer/Project Manager. No payment made for well(s) that need to be abandon due to CONTRACTOR errors. W2. Well Screen a. CONTRACTOR is to provide well screen sizing, sizing methodology and install well screen on developed well. 1. The size of the slot based on the sieve analysis of the water bearing formation. Well screens not to be installed without proper sizing. 2. Minimum specified screen length is 5 feet. The length of the screen shall be dependent upon the length and type of aquifer encountered and minimum specified production rate. b. Compensation may include payment for labor, packers, seals, couplings, blank risers as bottom and top sections, fittings, and all other necessary items require for a complete and operational installation. c. Payment for well screen as specified shall be made at the unit price bid based on the number of linear feet of open slot screen installed. W3. Test Pumping CONTRACTOR is to perform test pumping on each well. Well test pumping will be a minimum of 4 hours per well and shall be recorded on the well test pump form. (Three hours of drawdown testing and one hour recovery.) a. No payment shall be made for time setting and removing the test pump, or for an incomplete pump test because of equipment failure. b. Compensation may include payment for temporary power, if required, labor, pump, piping, water level and flow measuring equipment, and all other necessary items required for complete test pumping of a well. Well test pumping will be as specified in the plan set and standard details and shall be recorded on the well test pump form. W4. Sanitary Grout CONTRACTOR is to provide and install sanitary grout on each well. Grout shall be installed 10’ below pit-less adaptor, per ADEC regulations. a. Payment for sanitary grout as specified shall be made at the unit price bid based on the number of linear feet of grout envelope installed per well. b. Compensation may include payment for labor, temporary casing, placement of grout, and all other necessary items required to install a sanitary grout envelope in a well. W5. Disinfection and Chemical and Bacteriological Analysis (Water Analysis) a. CONTRACTOR is to perform disinfection and chemical and bacterial analysis of well water on the wells. b. Payment for the chemical and bacteriological analysis will be at the unit price bid for each analysis and/or disinfection required. Only one chemical and bacterial analysis and disinfection testing will be paid per well, unless the tests were inaccurate due to incorrect sampling methods and a retest is requested by ANTHC. Subsequent testing shall be at the contractor’s expense. Analysis report for each site tested will be provided to ANTHC within 30 days of final drilling of the well. W6. Well and Pressure System Appurtenances a. CONTRACTOR is to provide and install well appurtenances as stated in the specifications and as shown in the plan set, to include a minimum water well yield of 10 gallons per minute. b. Submersible pump (including power cable) sized and selected based on well depth, pipe length, total head, and flow rate characteristics. A flow reducer may be required for low producing wells. c. Controls shall include well control box, (located in the house), inclusive of all electrical wiring, additional breakers, disconnects (if required), including conduit and the main breaker box. d. Drop pipe, safety cable, check valve, torque arrestor, pit-less adapter. e. Pressure tank system to include pressure tank in accordance with the technical specifications and all other associated appurtenances necessary for a complete system connected to the interior house plumbing. f. All piping and appurtenances will be installed to meet current plumbing code; required clearances with the electrical components will be maintained. g. Compensation may include payment for labor, submersible pump, well controls including all electrical components, drop pipe, safety cable, check valve, torque arrestor, pit-less adapter, pressure tank and, all materials necessary to wholly complete appurtenances. Payment for well appurtenances as specified shall be paid for at the lump sum (lot) price bid.
