Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide professional engineering services to prepare required hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, data collection, documentation, reports, designs, and related hydraulic modeling for the proposed Alaska Highway Bridge Replacement projects. The Contractor shall meet the requirements of the Alaska Highway Drainage Manual, Alaska Highway Preconstruction Manual, and the AASHTO Drainage Manual in work products where applicable. Other requirements will be agreed upon during consultation with assigned Hydraulics staff. Specific work tasks include but are not limited to: • Peak streamflow estimation • Stream stability assessment • Scour evaluations • SRH-2D or equivalent 2D hydraulic modeling • Bridge riprap design • Deck drainage design • Culvert design • Stamped Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) report • Evaluation of proposed temporary work bridges, causeway, and guide bank design • Evaluation of the performance and condition of existing flood control features • Evaluation of the potential for increased aufeis production with different project design options • Address climate and non-stationary considerations for design discharge estimates • Assist in addressing H&H comments to the satisfaction of all involved permitting agencies • Review Plans, Specifications, & Estimate (PS&E) for proposed hydraulic structures • Final PS&E, including final stamped plans • Design and construction support as needed • Coordination with the DOT&PF’s Bridge Design and Highway Design sections and the DOT&PF’s CMGC Design Consultant. The final scope of services and specific work tasks for each project will be determined during negotiations.
