Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka (City) is requesting proposals for professional engineering services for Project No. T-701032.00 “SW 29th Street from SW Burlingame Road to SW Topeka Boulevard” (the Project). The services include providing conceptual work regarding curb replacement, localized base patching, and milling and overlay of the pavement, and engineering design and construction documents. 1. Meet with City staff at critical stages throughout design. 2. Perform field and topographic surveys. 3. Coordinate with other City utilities and private utility owners. 4. Design roadway improvements including mill and overlay of the pavement, curb replacement, and localized base patching. The consultant will work with the City’s right of way agent, to obtain needed right of way and/or temporary easements prior to the letting. The consultant will prepare the necessary legal descriptions needed for acquisitions. 5. Develop a traffic control plan to carry traffic through construction. 6. Develop and submit conceptual drawings (30% complete) with an estimate of probable construction costs (EPCC). 7. Develop and submit field-check drawings (60% complete) and an updated EPCC. 8. Facilitate one (1) public meeting: to be held after office-check drawings are complete to introduce businesses and residential property owners to the project and gather input. 9. Develop and submit office-check drawings and project manual (90% complete) and an updated EPCC. 10. Develop and submit final drawings, project manual, invitation to bid, bid form, and a final EPCC for the purpose of bidding the project. 11. Respond to questions from prospective bidders as necessary. 12. Prepare addenda as necessary. 13. Prepare a tabulation of bids and make a recommendation of award for construction.
