Specifications include, but are not limited to: 03.01. Performing all exploratory borings in accordance with the location, type, and depth required herein. 03.02. Sampling earth materials by split barrel or thin-walled tube methods at intervals required herein and at changes in the stratum. 03.03. Performing continuous core boring in rock using core barrel and bit sizes specified herein (if applicable) 03.04. Measuring the location of the groundwater level, should it be encountered. Commenting on the expected water level variations throughout the year, and the expected frost depth. 03.05. Providing all materials required protecting and preserving samples from damage and loss of moisture. 03.06. Backfilling borings as specified herein. 03.07. Delivering of samples and rock cores to the testing laboratory. 03.08. Providing drawing(s), which indicate in graphic form the location of each exploratory boring. 03.09. Providing an accurate and complete record of each boring as specified herein. 03.10. Performing laboratory tests as required herein to satisfy the work requirements and submitting details for preliminary structure foundation design. 03.11. Providing engineering recommendations on soil/rock strength parameters (citing safety factors used), foundation type selection, and construction practices that would be preferable for the soils properties encountered. 03.12. Providing electronic documentation of report (PDF format) and two original bound hard copy reports including all the information obtained under the work requirements stated herein, the geological and geotechnical findings, recommended strength parameters, and recommended construction methods. Foundation design criteria and construction recommendations shall be clearly and separately stated in the report.
