Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of West Virginia Purchasing Division, is soliciting bids for the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History to establish a contract for the one-time purchase of a concert grand piano. Concert Grand Piano – Steinway and Sons New Model D or equal 3.1.1.1 Piano must be considered a “Concert Grand Piano” as defined in 2.3. All major components of the piano should be in the “concert grand piano” in material and quality. 3.1.1.2 Vendor must provide a Concert Grand Piano that is listed in new condition. 3.1.1.2.1 Vendors biding a Concert Grand Piano that is listed as used, preowned, like new, refurbished, or reconditioned will be disqualified. 3.1.1.3 Height - must be between 95cm – 105cm from the floor to top of the piano with a closed lid. 3.1.1.4 Width - must be between 145cm – 165cm at the widest point of the piano. 3.1.1.5 Lid - piano must be made from maple, mahogany, rosewoods, Brazil woods, or ebony woods and must be a black/polished finish. 3.1.1.6 Lid Prop - must have a minimum of three positions (closed, mid prop, and full prop) 3.1.1.7 Music Desk - should have a minimum of 3 different positions. 3.1.1.8 Fall Board - should be a “soft fall” and match the finish of the exterior of the piano. 3.1.1.9 Casters/piano dolly – must have large single wheeled casters on all legs of piano or a Jansen Spider Dolly or equal. 3.1.1.10 Soundboard – must be made of Sitka spruce, maple, mahogany, rosewoods, Brazil woods, or ebony woods.
